Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi starring Siddharth and Amala Paul and directed by debutante Balaji Mohan is a fantastic movie that has set the box office ringing this year. A fun filled movie that is bound to be a rage among today’s youth. The film is a clean family entertainer without any vulgarity, item songs or crass jokes. The film is about 2.5 hrs, which is great given that the Director doesn’t drag any scene or moment. Nirav Shah’s camera is perfect and captures the characters with great aplomb. While the first half is fairly similar to the short-film, people who have seen the short-film will still find some great moments that have been added creatively by the filmmakers. The second-half moves at a brisk with the hero’s friends getting involved in the main story. There are not too many sub-plots in Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi which would have made the movie a bit dragging, and thankfully director Balaji Mohan has handled sub-plots very well with all the sub-plots adding to the main plot of whether Siddharth and Amala Paul will get together at the end of the movie. The music by Thaman is original and refreshing with Siddharth crooning the Parvathi Parvathi which is bound to catch on with the youngsters. The Parvathi Parvathi song from Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi in the beginning refreshes our memories of the famous hit song of yesteryear – Vishwanathan Vellei Vendum from Kathalika Neramillai in terms of the dance and the song style.
